The NDIS is Australia’s National Disability Insurance Scheme. It provides eligible people with permanent and significant disability, or people who meet early intervention requirements, with funding for disability-related supports. To apply, you generally need to be aged 0 to 64, live in Australia, and be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or Protected Special Category visa holder.
Yes. NDIS participants have choice and control over who delivers their supports. You can compare providers, ask about experience, availability, pricing and service agreements, and choose registered providers where your plan or funding management requires it. SupportX can help participants in Sydney and NSW understand service options and connect with suitable supports.
You can apply by contacting the NDIS or an NDIS partner, gathering evidence from treating health professionals, and completing the application or access request. Evidence usually needs to show your identity, age, residency, disability or early intervention needs, and the impact on daily life. SupportX can guide Sydney and NSW families through the preparation steps.
If your circumstances, goals, support needs or living arrangements change, you can ask the NDIA for a plan change. Small updates may be handled as a plan variation; bigger changes may require a plan reassessment. Your my NDIS contact, support coordinator or recovery coach can help gather evidence and prepare the request.
